Hi everyone – I have decided to branch out a bit into the video realm. Here is my take on a recent article published by Bloomberg on the folks at Amazon possibly denying requests to work from home as an accommodation for those with disabilities. Comments welcome!!

  1. Your quick take on accommodation was appreciated. As a rehabilitation professional I want to continue to see employers try and step into the shoes of a person with a disability. Employers need to take a look at the conditions their employee is facing and what accommodations make sense for that individual. The best accommodation may go against the gain of what has been considered policy for the general population, but if you have a productive employee, who excels at what they do and will be less hampered working from home then in my opinion the WFM strategy should be open for discussion. Thanks again for your thoughts on the subject, Steve.

It isn't just Steve's pragmatism and ability to see all situations through the prism of common sense and fairness that make him the first person I consult when I encounter a challenging situation. It's the fact that his motivations as a professional, philanthropist and friend are born out of a genuine sense of goodness and kind intent. You hear a lot of people that claim to be 'selfless' but with Steve it's really never about HIM. He's smart, thoughtful and compassionate and I am one of many who count him among my most trusted colleagues.
